Dr. Schwartz was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His college degree was from Temple University where he majored in chemistry and mathematics. At graduation, he received the Herbert M. Winegard Memorial Award for graduating first in his class and the Award of the American Institute of Chemists for excellence in chemistry. Dr. Schwartz received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1977. After an internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Mary's Hospital, a major affiliate of Yale University, he completed his dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Schwartz is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He has over 30 years' experience in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Schwartz is on the medical staff of the Fletcher Allen Hospital at the University of Vermont. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Aesthetic Surgery, the New England Dermatologic Society, and the Vermont Dermatology Society. He is a past president of the New Hampshire Dermatology Society.
Dr. Schwartz practices medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology in South Burlington, Vermont. For several years, he was also the director and sole injector for the Aesthetic Institute of West Florida. Because of his experience and expertise in cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Schwartz was invited to be a member of the Medical Education Faculty for Bioform Medical Corporation, makers of Radiesse, a leading facial filler. He instructs and trains other physicians how to assess the aging face and how to use injection techniques to maximize results. Due to his experience and training, Dr. Schwartz is the only physician in Vermont who can inject Sculptra Aesthetic, a new longer term anti-aging treatment for facial volume replacement.
Dr. Schwartz has appeared numerous times on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox 44 news discussing various skin related topics ranging from skin cancers and cold sore virus to sun damage and selection of sunscreens. He has also appeared on television demonstrating techniques for injecting facial fillers for rejuvenation and enhancement. Dr. Schwartz has authored numerous journal publications including recent articles in Professional Skier Magazine and Best of Burlington Magazine reviewing the damaging effects of ultraviolet light from the sun and how to select the proper sunscreen.

Dr. Schwartz’ extensive backgrounds as a research chemist and as a dermatologist places him in the unique position to critically evaluate the various claims made by skin care product manufacturers. Phoebe Pelkey MPAS, PA-C is a physician assistant specializing in medical dermatology. She received her physician assistant certificate from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. Ms. Pelkey received a master's degree from the University of Nebraska and an undergraduate degree from Johnson State College. She has been extensively trained in medical dermatology by Dr. Schwartz to become an extension of his excellent care. Previous to obtaining her PA certificate, Ms. Pelkey worked as a medical assistant at the Vermont Women's Health Center and the Community Health Center. Ms. Pelkey is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, NCCPA, and continues with her medical education by attending lectures and seminars by the American Academy of Dermatology and Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Phoebe is a native Vermonter, an avid snowboarder and enjoys hiking, kayaking, running and spending time with her family.

Katherine Wright, APRN is a nurse practitioner specializing in dermatology. Ms. Wright earned her undergraduate degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana where she received the Presidential Honors Scholarship. She received her Master’s in Science of Nursing from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington.
Ms. Wright is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has received extensive training by Dr. Schwartz in general and cosmetic dermatology. She is also a certified family nurse practitioner with additional training in treating children and is a member of the Vermont State Nurse Practitioner Association.
Prior to joining Dorset Street Dermatology, Ms. Wright worked as a nurse practitioner at Fairfax Hospital outside of Seattle, Washington. Katherine is originally from Alaska, so the Vermont winters feel like home. She enjoys running, skiing, traveling, and spending time with her husband.
Chelsea is a Vermont State-licensed aesthetician specializing in medical spa services. She attained her certification at the Salon Professional Academy in Williston, Vermont in 2007. Graduating at the top of her class, Chelsea has demonstrated a marked aptitude in the field of aesthetics.
