Micro-Peeling

The SkinCeuticals Micro-Peel is a three-step clinical procedure combining dermaplaning (physical exfoliation), chemical exfoliation, and cryogenic therapy to reduce signs of photoaging including fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and visible skin imperfections in a series of 4-6 procedures.

Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, our aesthetician simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. Removing epidermal skin allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. Dermaplanning is used by our aesthetician to prepare the skin for superficial chemical peels or before a cleansing facial. This procedure is most often used on patients with rough, dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. Dermaplanning results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance.

The chemical exfoliation step of the Micro-Peel procedure uses Micro-Peel Solutions that are formulated with unbuffered and unneutralized acid at a low pH. This accelerates skin cell renewal to reduce signs of photodamage.
